HARRISBURG – Municipalities in the 120th Legislative District were awarded nearly $1.4 million in Local Share Account (LSA) through the Commonwealth Funding Authority (CFA), Rep. Aaron Kaufer (R-Luzerne) announced today.

“This funding will be used for a variety of projects ranging from equipment purchases to other improvements,” Kaufer said. “The end result of this funding is improvements that will be a benefit to all members of the community.”

As required under Act 71 of 2004, the Department of Economic and Community Development and the CFA developed guidelines to distribute Local Share Account (LSA) funds generated in Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, Montgomery, Northampton and Washington counties.

Below is a list of municipalities in the 120th Legislative District that received funding and their funding levels:

• Edwardsville Borough: $150,000 for DPW Garage.
• Edwardsville Borough: $50,000 for a Mural Revitalization Project.
• Exeter Borough: $75,000 for the Schooley - Wyoming Avenue Improvement Project.
• Exeter Township; $60,000 for township equipment.
• Forty Fort Borough: $102,084 for West Side Council of Governments Grant.
• Forty Fort Borough: $50,000 for the Rutter Avenue Gateway project.
• Jackson Township: $50,000 for a backhoe loader.
• Kingston Municipality: $300,000 for the Recreation Center Improvement Project.
• Kingston Township: $200,000 for Center Street Park phase II.
• Luzerne Borough: $50,000 for the LSA vision plan.
• Pringle Borough: $136,560 for West Side Mutual Aid Equipment.
• Pringle Borough: $75,000 for borough building improvements.
• West Pittston Borough: $50,000 for Department of Public Works Building Renovations.
• West Wyoming Borough: $50,000 for West Wyoming Firehouse Addition and Rehabilitation Project.

In addition to the funding to municipalities in the district, $330,000 was also awarded to the Luzerne County Redevelopment Authority for 911 infrastructure improvements.
