Kaufer Nationally Recognized as Legislative Mental Health Champion

HARRISBURG – Rep. Aaron Kaufer (R-Luzerne) was honored Tuesday as a legislative mental health champion in recognition of his outstanding work on mental health issues at Mental Health America’s Regional Policy Council Legislator Awards Breakfast in Boston, Massachusetts, which was held in conjunction with the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) legislative summit.

Kaufer Reminds Residents of Monthly Outreach Services

LUZERNE – In an effort to assist all residents of the 120th District, Rep. Aaron Kaufer (R-Luzerne) reminds those interested of his monthly schedule of outreach events. Each of the five outreaches will take place on a designated day each month at Kaufer’s district office at 161 Main St., in Luzerne.

Kaufer to Speak at ‘The Wall That Heals’ Opening Ceremony in Swoyersville

WHAT: Rep. Aaron Kaufer (R-Luzerne) will speak at the opening ceremony of “The Wall That Heals,” a 250-foot replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, along with a mobile education center. The wall will be in Swoyersville from June 8-11, will be open 24 hours a day, and will be free to the public. It honors the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces in the Vietnam War, and it bears the names of the more than 58,000 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam. It is guarded 24 hours a day, and Taps will be played at 7:30 p.m. each day.

Kaufer’s Shredding Day Event Scheduled for April 29

LUZERNE – In the spirit of spring cleaning, Rep. Aaron Kaufer (R-Luzerne) will host a Shredding Day event for residents of the 120th District to more easily dispose of some unneeded items. This will be held on Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the West Side Career and Technical Center, located at 75 Evans St., in Pringle.

Kaufer to Participate in Chester Street Elementary Reading Rally on Tuesday

WHAT: Rep. Aaron Kaufer (R-Luzerne) will be reading to students at Chester Street Elementary School as part of its Reading Rally. Kaufer’s mother, Larinda Kaufer, started the Reading Rally at Wyoming Valley West. Rep. Kaufer was the first student to win the Reading Rally when he was in second grade, as a student at Chester Street. He is looking forward to visiting with students and teachers as part of this encouraging event.
